LOCATED JUST 20 MINUTES SOUTH OF PEORIA, CAMP KEARNEY ENCOMPASSES 155 ACRES OF WOODS, PRAIRIE, STREAMS, AND LAKES.
Founded over 50 years ago, Camp Kearney is the result of a vision given to long-time South Side Mission worker Margaret Kearney. Margaret wanted to provide a Christ-centered camping experience for children of South Side Mission, and it became a reality through the hard work and generosity of many people. Camp Kearney has expanded its ministry and now offers a free week-long summer camp experience to around 400 children from inner-city Peoria and rural Central Illinois each summer. An additional 600 children visit Camp Kearney each summer through our day camp program.

When our summer camp program is not in full swing, Camp Kearney is available to church groups, families, or other organizations for overnight retreats, picnics, day outings, volunteer work projects, or adventure activities. It is through these events that Camp Kearney is able to share God’s blessing with those outside our primary mission field.

CAMP KEARNEY OFFERS FREE SUMMER CAMP TO CHILDREN FROM FAMILIES WITH LIMITED RESOURCES.
Camp Kearney offers a quality, Christ-centered camping experience to children from inner-city and rural Central Illinois completely FREE of charge. Our goal has always has been to provide a summer camping experience to children who might not otherwise be able to attend summer camp due to limited financial resources. If you find yourself in these circumstances, we’d love to help.

Transportation Details
Getting to Camp Kearney:
Daily, parents may bring campers to the South Side Mission and check them in at 9 am. A bus will transport the campers to camp, OR parents may bring campers to Camp for check-in at 10 am.
Getting home from Camp Kearney:
Daily, the camp will bus campers to the South Side Mission for parents to pick up at 4pm, OR parents may pick up them up daily at Camp at 3:15 pm.
